I created this painting to reflect my experiences growing up Asian American. I remember when I was younger, my parents made me Campbell chicken noodle soup when I was sick which I would eat using an Asian soup spoon. It’s a bit of a metaphor, how both the meal and I appeared Asian, but I had to consume, literally and figuratively, the American way of life.
